At Visual Pathways, we believe in our technology. And we’re not the only ones! Since January 2000 we have been awarded peer-reviewed U.S. Army grants totaling approximately $3.5 million for the ARIS™, VisPath Analyzer™ and GlucoScope™ Monitor product development and commercialization efforts.

aris Our product development efforts have resulted in completion of the development of the ARIS™ Automated Retinal Imaging System. Commercial production and shipment began in 2004.

The Company was awarded U.S. patent 6,834,958, covering the Digicat Imager™,, “Instruments and Methods for Examining and Quantifying Cataracts” in December 2004. International patents covering the DigiCat Imager™ are pending. Market availability is projected for mid-2006.

On December 28, 2004 the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded VPI U.S. patent 6,836,337 covering the GlucoScope™ Monitor. International patents covering the GlucoScope™ Monitor are pending. The GlucoScope™ Monitor is still in the pre-prototype stage with fundamental optics and software design efforts well underway.

The VisPath Analyzer™ development has been advanced significantly and three prototypes have been in use by clinicians for about two years. A human clinical study is underway at the University of Iowa Department of Neuro-ophthalmology. A research model should be available mid-2006.
